London
London is of course the capital city of England and with a diverse ethnic population, historical attractions galore and international importance, there is much that makes London a fascinating place to visit. With a population of 8 million, it is a large city which offers excellent entertainment, award winning restaurants and world class visitor attractions.
Perhaps London's biggest draw is its historical attractions. The British Museum features world class antiquities and a huge fascinating collection gleaned from across the world. A visit to the Tower of London is essential for those who share a fascination for England's royal history. Greenwich with its Maritime Museum, parklands and Royal Observatory makes for a fascinating day out and is also home to wonderful craft markets.

Aside from the historical attractions, what makes London so very special is its culture and entertainment. Musicals are a London speciality and make for memorable nights out. Viewing London
To get around London, it's almost an essential experience to use the tube. This is also by far the quickest and easiest way to get from attraction to attraction. When it comes to really soaking up views of London, where are the best places? For years now, the obvious choice has been the London Eye, where you can be taken up to dizzying heights and see a bird's eye view of London from a pod attached to something very much like a giant Ferris wheel. Now though visitors have a new choice, with the Shard, said to be the highest building in Western Europe, in London, and a place where truly stunning views are on offer. Some find views of London from these special viewing points best during the day whereas others prefer the views at night where the city is lit up in its full glory.
Bath
Bath with its grand buildings and ancient places of interest, is one of England's finest cities. If you have money to splurge, it's a particularly good place to visit. This is a place to live it up in style where having a large budget for a good time can help you get the best out of the city. From high end eateries to high end places to stay, Bath is a splendid place.
The Roman Baths in Bath make for a fascinating visit and can be followed off with afternoon tea in the splendid surroundings of the Pump Room Restaurant next door. A guided walking tour can be a great way to experience the highlights of the city and to take in fine sights such as the Royal Crescent. Those who like a bit of a thrill may want to book on one of the ghost tours to see a different side of the city. For the ultimate in relaxation head to the Thermae Bath Spa where you can enjoy soaking in the hot steamy waters whilst taking in rooftop views of the city. For even more relaxation a massage or another pampering treatment may be in order.
Oxford
Oxford is one of England's finest cities. This city is undoubtedly best known for its university and it is the presence of the university and its history that help make this city so special. This city is a must for anyone who finds English history fascinating and who has an appreciation of fine historical buildings. As well as being a scenic place to visit, Oxford also boasts a number of museums, a fair choice of entertainment in terms of bars, restaurants and theatres and a riverside setting. For the most relaxing option, take a walk by the river or a boat trip and watch the city as you float on by.
For some of the best views in Oxford head to the University Church of St Mary the Virgin. Although you have to pay to get to the top of the tower, with fine views of the city down below to reward you at the top, many find it's worth the climb.
When it comes to seeing Oxford's historical sights, visitors are free to walk outside many of the university buildings but not all can be visited. Thankfully though a number of impressive University of Oxford buildings are museums, making this city more accessible to visitors. Some of the most fascinating of these museums include the Museum of the History of Science, said to house one of the best collection of historical scientific pieces in the world. Another fascinating find is the University Museum of Natural History where the admission is free. Also of interest is the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology where again admission is free.
Another essential place to see in Oxford is Radcliffe Camera in Radcliffe Square. Officially a reading room for the university, this building is not open to visitors and can only be admired from the outside.
Walk by the river to experience some of the very best of Oxford or if the weather is good take a picnic and a pew and soak up the scene.
